Maternal Fetal Medicine Physician Locums Job in New York
Details/Requirements:
-- Need an MFM physician to provide full-scope clinic coverage, inpatient rounding on antepartum patients, ultrasound interpretation, and possible night/weekend phone coverage as needed for 3 hospitals in the area.
-- ASAP start; this is a high-priority need
Opportunity Details:
Clinical Care:
-- Full inpatient antepartum and outpatient high-risk OB clinic coverage
-- Provide comprehensive consultations for high-risk pregnancies, including maternal and fetal complications
-- Perform and interpret advanced obstetric ultrasounds, fetal echocardiography (if applicable), Doppler studies, and prenatal diagnostic procedures
-- Work collaboratively with residents, APPs, and attending physicians
-- Rounding on inpatient admissions, including daily notes, management plans, review of hospitalization events, and consultation with additional services as needed
-- Outpatient clinic averages approximately 20 patients per session, 3 sessions per week, with 2 additional providers sharing the patient panel (approximately 6 patients per provider)
-- Direct patient management and development of management plans for generalist attendings
-- Provide eConsults for clinical questions and management issues as requested
-- High-acuity patient population including diabetes, hypertension, fetal growth restriction (FGR), advanced maternal age (AMA), and obesity
-- Possible weekend and/or night phone coverage as needed
-- No labor and delivery coverage
Diagnostic and Procedural Duties:
-- First-, second-, and third-trimester ultrasounds (2nd trimester and later; no GYN)
-- Ultrasound performance and interpretation as needed
-- Amniocentesis
-- Cervical cerclage
-- Fetal assessment, NSTs, and BPPs
-- Management of hypertensive disorders, diabetes, multiple gestation, placenta accreta spectrum, preterm birth prevention, and other high-risk conditions
Teaching and Education:
-- Supervise and teach residents, fellows (if applicable), medical students, and sonographers
-- Contribute to curriculum development, simulation training, and quality improvement initiatives
