Job Description
- Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient care

Purpose:
To provide clinical assessment, examination, and treatment for women in need of Maternal Fetal Medicine services in both the inpatient and outpatient settings.
Essential Functions:
- Obtain patient history and perform assessment via observation, interview and examination
- Provide quality care and conduct diagnostic testing in accordance with evidence-based clinical guidelines
- Interpret antenatal testing (e.g. non-stress tests)
- Participate in ongoing quality assurance audits and provide real-time feedback to improve patient care
- Work collaboratively with a team of physicians, associate providers and other stakeholders to provide comprehensive clinical care
- Ensure continuous flow of communication with leadership of clinic to enhance quality of healthcare services to patients
- Provide patient navigation to provide seamless care coordination between inpatient and outpatient settings
- Participate in the education of medical students, OB/GYN residents, and fellows
- Support and participate in research initiatives within the division
Marginal/Incidental Functions:
Other related functions as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
Master’s degree in nursing, science, or equivalent degree and a minimum of three years’ experience as a nurse practitioner or physician’s assistant. A license to practice in the state of Texas. Three years’ experience in providing Maternal Fetal Medicine care. Requires strong problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced practice environment; ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, and patients.
Preferred Qualifications:
Doctoral degree in nursing, science or equivalent degree and five years of experience providing obstetrical care. Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
