Maternal-Fetal Medicine Multi Specialty Group job located in Texas
Job Description
Maternal-Fetal Medicine – No Weekends | No Holidays | Light Call
University Health – San Antonio
University Health is expanding its women’s service line in San Antonio, Texas, and is looking for a Board Eligible/Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join the team. This full-time role focuses on outpatient high-risk obstetric care at two upcoming state-of-the-art facilities: Palo Alto Hospital and Retama Hospital (both opening in 2027). You’ll provide high-quality community access while staying fully integrated with the system’s primary tertiary care center
This position primarily focuses on the outpatient management of high-risk pregnancies, while more complex cases and inpatient needs are handled by the main University Health Labor & Delivery unit. You can expect a predictable weekday schedule (Monday–Friday) with no routine weekends or holidays. The call rotation is primarily consultative, focused on triaging and transferring high-acuity patients to the main campus, which keeps the on-call burden relatively light.
Position Highlights:
- No weekends, no holidays, light call
- Practice across new community hospital settings with strong tertiary support
- Comprehensive maternal-fetal medicine services, including preconception counseling through delivery
- Strong referral base of 80+ PCPs
- Management of high-risk and medically complex obstetric patients (e.g., hypertensive disorders, diabetes, cardiac, renal, autoimmune, and other comorbidities)
- Perform advanced procedures such as detailed ultrasound, amniocentesis, cervical cerclage, and management of multiple gestations
- Access to advanced diagnostic and fetal evaluation technologies
The opening of the Palo Alto and Retama campuses marks a major expansion for University Health, bringing top-tier care to the rapidly growing Northeast and Southern corridors of San Antonio. Physicians will work in modern facilities specifically designed for comprehensive women’s health, serving one of the most vibrant and expanding populations in the region.
