Maternal-Fetal Medicine – No Weekends | No Holidays | Light Call

University Health is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine (MFM) physician to join our growing Women’s Service Line in San Antonio, Texas. This is a full-time, employed opportunity with a primary focus on outpatient high-risk obstetric care, supporting two new community hospitals—Palo Alto Hospital and Retama Hospital—both scheduled to open in 2027. This role will primarily involve outpatient management of high-risk pregnancies, with inpatient responsibilities and complex cases supported by University Health’s main Labor & Delivery unit. The position offers a predictable weekday schedule (Monday–Friday, daytime hours) with no routine weekend or holiday clinical responsibilities. Call coverage is shared and primarily consultative, ensuring appropriate triage and transfer of higher-acuity patients to the main campus, resulting in relatively light call burden.
Position Highlights:
- No weekends, no holidays, light call
- Practice across new community hospital settings with strong tertiary support
- Comprehensive maternal-fetal medicine services, including preconception counseling through delivery
- Strong referral base of 80+ PCPs
- Management of high-risk and medically complex obstetric patients (e.g., hypertensive disorders, diabetes, cardiac, renal, autoimmune, and other comorbidities)
- Perform advanced procedures such as detailed ultrasound, amniocentesis, cervical cerclage, and management of multiple gestations
- Access to advanced diagnostic and fetal evaluation technologies
