Neonatology Locums Job in Virginia | Day & Night Coverage | Beginning ASAP - Ongoing | Assignment #114306
Coverage Details:
-- Day coverage: 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
-- Night coverage: 5:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-- Staffing model includes two neonatologists during the day and one in-house neonatologist overnight
Requirements:
-- Board certified in neonatology with recent experience
-- Clinically active within the past year
-- Minimum of six months of clinical experience within neonatology
-- Virginia medical license
Procedures & Services:
-- High-frequency ventilation (HFOV and HFJV)
-- Inhaled nitric oxide
-- Therapeutic hypothermia with aEEG
-- Management of pediatric surgical patients
Assignment Details:
-- Level III NICU with 40 beds
-- Average daily census: NICU 14.3; nursery 24.2
-- Annual NICU admissions (2025 YTD through April): 130
-- Nurse-driven transport team with physician oversight (approximately 15 transports per year)
-- No ECMO or cardiac surgery, except PDA ligations
-- Six full-time neonatologists on staff
-- Community hospital setting
-- Focus on high-risk obstetrics, trauma, cardiovascular, neurological, and oncology care
-- Women’s hospital on campus with Level III NICU
