Job Description

We are seeking two highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Assistant/Associate/Professors to join our team at the University of Florida Department of Neurology as Neurohospitalists. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, the successful candidates will provide exceptional patient care to our patients with complex neurological disorders on our general neurology ward/consult service. The candidate will be responsible for evaluating and managing patients with a wide range of neurological conditions. The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills, a strong commitment to patient-centered care, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced academic environment.

 

Responsibilities and Expectations:

  • Provide high quality, patient-centered care to patients with complex neurological disorders on our general neurology ward and consults services.
  • Conduct thorough evaluations, develop treatment plans, and manage patients with a wide range of neurological conditions.
  • Clinical teaching and supervision of Neurology residents and medical students.
  • Maintain a commitment to academic excellence, with opportunities for teaching.
  • Meet all requirements for licensure, certification and hospital privileges.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Work a minimum of 23 weeks per year, with a schedule that includes 7 days on and 7 days off, and participate in an on-call rotation. 
 

Commensurate with experience and education.

Required Qualifications:
  • MD or equivalent
  • Board certified or board eligible in Neurology
  • Completion of Neurology residency training
  • Eligibility for medical licensure in the state of Florida

Preferred:

  • Demonstrated interest in academic medicine
  • Strong communication, leadership, and teamwork skills
