Louisiana Neurohospitalist Locums Job | July Start and Ongoing
One of our partnering hospitals in Louisiana is seeking locums Neurohospitalist coverage as soon as July and ongoing, following a 7 on 7 off rotation. Specific dates rotation listed below. The locums will be covering general Neurology service, working alongside a Vascular Neurologist.
Dates:
--July 3 – 9
--July 17 – 23
--July Call nights: 3, 4, 6, 20, 22
--August 14 – 20
--August 28 – September 3
--August Call nights: 14, 15, 17, 28, 29, 31
--September 11 - 17
--September 25 – October 1
--September Call nights: 2, 11, 12, 14, 25, 26, 28, 30
--Continuing 7 on 7 off schedule ongoing
Coverage:
--Start date: ASAP, as soon as July 3
--Schedule runs Thursday - Wednesday
--Daily shifts: 7am-4pm
--Night call on specific dates above, from 4pm-7am. Overnight consults managed by ED providers in coordination with on-call Neurologist via phone
--Locums Neurohospitalist will be covering general Neurology service. Vascular Neurologist handles all ED and stroke calls
Scope of Work:
--Procedures required: interpret EEGs
--Average daily census: 15 Neurology patients
--Cases: general Neurology cases such as seizures, myasthenia gravis exacerbations, altered mental status, and Guillain-Barré syndrome etc. Not expected to perform procedures, LP handed by NIR team.
--Vascular Neurologist handles all stroke patients, including TNK administration and coordination with NIR for thrombectomy decisions
--Hospitalist and ICU services admit patients. Brain death exams initiated upon request by ICU teams.
--Neuro is actively involved in patient management, including placing orders, conducting family discussions and coordinating care as needed.
Facility support and credentialing:
--Support staff: One Vascular Neurologist on shift. No APP for General Neurology.
--Temporary privileges available
--Advanced Primary Stroke Center
Requirements:
--Active Louisiana license or IMLC
--Board Certified in Neurology
