DETAILS
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8AM – 4:30 PM; potential for rotating on-call during hours when the clinic is closed including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Estimated Pay Rate: $220/hr - $230/hr
- Work Location: James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN
TASKS
(1) Provide comprehensive standard of care professional services as a board certified or board eligible neurologist including back-up coverage for staff neurologist to ensure clinic coverage and operations
(2) Actively involved in patient care decisions by keeping him/her fully informed about the diagnosis, plan of care, treatment goals, risks, benefits of proposed treatments and prognosis.
(3) Ensure care provided will respect and integrate the patient's beliefs, values, cultural influences and special needs as well as reflects VA Medical Center's mission, vision, and values.
(4) Ensure that medical record documentation contains at a minimum or exceeds HCFA/CMS Medicare guidelines, which supports patient care and the VAMC medical cost care recovery initiatives
(5) Continually assess for, and act upon, clinical and administrative improvement opportunities
(6) Ensure appropriate professional Neurology coverage in the inpatient and Emergency Department settings when VA staff Neurologist is unavailable; responsible for coordinating evaluation, treatment and overall medical management of eligible Veterans
QUALIFICATIONS
(1) Medical degree from an accredited university
(2) Current medical license (full and unrestricted) to practice in any state, territory, or commonwealth of the United States or District of Columbia
(3) Board Certified /Board Eligible Neurologist by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Neurology.
(4) Current BLS and ACLS certifications
(5) Ability to complete credentialing process to obtain clinical privileges
(6) As needed, availability for on-call phone consultations with VA residents and physicians
(7) US citizenship as per contract requirements to complete background check and security clearance processes
