Urgent Locum Psychiatry Job – NYC (Upper East Side & Brooklyn)
Details/Requirements:
--Locum Tenens Psychiatrist
--Adult (18+), SMI-focused
--Start ASAP | ~3 months through July (potential extension) | 40–50 hours/week (open to multiple providers)
Client Overview:
Client is a mental health organization focused on treating serious mental illness (SMI) through a fully integrated, wraparound care model. They are rapidly expanding with multiple NYC clinics and strong health system partnerships.
Location:
--Upper East Side and Brooklyn
Schedule & Volume:
--Clinic hours Monday–Thursday preferred (low Friday volume)
--Daily schedule: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
--Approximately 4 patients per day
--Visit length: ~1 hour (evaluations and medication management)
--Ideally in person; limited hybrid flexibility
Practice Setting:
--Integrated, team-based outpatient care model working closely with psychiatrists, therapists, primary care providers, dietitians, and community health workers.
Clinical Responsibilities:
--Manage behavioral health care across recovery phases
--Develop individualized medical and psychosocial treatment plans
--Provide ongoing consultations, primarily in person with occasional virtual visits
--Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary care teams
--Address social determinants impacting patient outcomes
Candidate Requirements:
--Board-Certified or Board-Eligible Psychiatrist
--Active, unrestricted New York license and DEA
--Experience treating adults with serious mental illness
--Medicaid and Medicare enrollment
--Clozapine REMS certification or willingness to obtain
--Strong collaborative and interdisciplinary care experience
