Hematology Oncology APP Locums Job Starting Late May in North Carolina

We are working with a cancer care program seeking a physician assistant or nurse practitioner for locum tenens coverage in a Symptom Management Clinic. This is a short term outpatient focused opportunity supporting oncology patients experiencing acute treatment related side effects.

Dates of Coverage: Starting May 28 for a six week assignment

Schedule:
--Monday through Friday
--7:30 am to 5:00 pm

Details and Requirements:
--Coverage is within a dedicated Symptom Management Clinic located inside a large cancer center
--100 percent outpatient clinical care
--Clinic supports hematology oncology patients with acute side effects of chemotherapy such as nausea, vomiting, dehydration, and fever
--Anticipated patient volume is approximately 12 to 14 patients per day
--No call responsibilities
--No critical care responsibilities
--Provider will not respond to codes
--Provider will respond to patients experiencing medication reactions in a nearby infusion suite
--Practice includes strong nursing and infusion support
--Orientation required the day prior to first scheduled shift

Candidate Requirements:
--Physician assistant or nurse practitioner required
--Prior Hematology Oncology experience strongly preferred
--Active state license required
--Active state DEA required
--BLS required
