Obstetrics/Gynecology Partnership job located in Alabama
Job Description
About Us:
We are a privately-owned practice in Mobile, Alabama with 5 doctors and 1 mid-level provider. Each doctor works 4 days per week and has his/her own office, nurse, and medical assistant. We practice a “pure” form of obstetrics and gynecology; we don’t do pellets or cosmetic procedures. I think we do it really well, for example: our abdominal hysterectomy virtually zero, we encourage TOLAC, and we actively monitor our practice patterns to minimize our cesarean section rate which is well below national average. We do all of our work at one hospital to which our office is physically connected. We operate with each other on major gyn cases and cesareans. Our office has four ultrasound machines with techs, Dexa, colpo, LEEP, hysteroscopy, urodynamics, and MMG (read by contract radiologists). A new hire would take the same call as everyone else, one in six when we hire. Our track to partnership is 2.5 years and requires a $17,000 “stock” buy in.
We have been in existence for 70 years. We work hard and take care of each other. We own the group and we run the group. Once you’re a partner, you do too. We don’t “vote” on things. We are friends and partners and we discuss issues until there is mutual agreement on what is the best course for the group. This probably sounds too good to be true. It isn’t. If you are the smartest and hardest working person in your residency program, the best surgeon with the best bedside manner, and you want to work hard, own your own practice with a group of friends, take really good care of patients, and be financially secure for the rest of your life then this is the group for you. My goal in hiring a new person is for this to be his or her “forever job” and I want someone who is looking for the same thing.
