Obstetrics and Gynecology Physician Locums Job in Alabama | Beginning April 1, 2026 – Ongoing | Assignment #113290

Coverage Details
-- April 1 – Ongoing
-- Weekday clinic + call only; option to add weekend call or expand to full 24/7 schedule
-- Credentialing timeframe: 45 days

Shift Description
-- Clinic hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm, Monday–Thursday
-- 24-hour hospital call Monday–Thursday

Call Details
-- 24-hour call, Monday–Thursday
-- Beeper call; 30-minute response time

Requirements
-- Board Eligible
-- Fellowship required
-- Alabama license or IMLC
-- ACLS, BLS, PALS
-- Laser Certification

Required Procedures / Skills
-- Low-risk and high-risk pregnancy
-- FHR interpretation: NST / CST / FSE
-- OB ultrasounds (performance + interpretation): Level I/Screening, Level II/Targeted
-- Amniocentesis
-- Routine delivery: Vaginal, Low forceps, Decision-making for C-section
-- Complicated deliveries: C-section, Breech, Multiple births, Abruptions, VBACs
-- Repair of 3rd & 4th degree lacerations
-- Office/minor GYN procedures: IUD, cystoscopy, colposcopy, cryosurgery, LEEP, etc.
-- Surgical gynecology:
    -- Open
    -- Laparoscopic diagnostic/minor (tubal ligation, LOAs, chromotubation)
    -- Operative/major GYN surgery (ectopic pregnancy, ovary removal, cystectomy, extensive LOAs)

Assignment Details
-- Average 1–2 deliveries/day
-- Required to perform scheduled and emergent C-sections and GYN surgeries
-- Dedicated OR block time available
-- PEDs Level: 1
-- Trauma Level: 3
-- No supervision required

Clinic Coverage (Mon–Thurs)
-- Hours: 8:00 am – 4:30 pm
-- ~15 patients/day (OB + GYN mix)
-- NP support for GYN and low-acuity OB
-- 11 exam rooms, 2 ultrasound rooms, 1 dedicated procedure room
-- In-office procedures: colposcopy, LEEP, hysteroscopy, IUD/Nexplanon insertion
-- Clinic connected to hospital via enclosed skybridge
-- EMR: Athena with onsite clinical informatics support

Hospital Coverage (Monday–Thursday 24 hours)
-- Average 1–2 deliveries/day
-- Full support: pediatric hospitalist, 24/7 anesthesia, 24/7 radiology, nursing + OR teams
-- EMR: Medhost
