Obstetrics/Gynecology Hospital Based job located in Maine
Job Description
Hospital is seeking Locum BC OB/GYN to provide coverage
- Open shifts for 2025 (must be able to cover all - or close to all - shifts):
Sept 15-25 (off 16th)
Oct 1-13 (off 3, 4, 5, 7)
Oct 29-Nov 1
Nov 5
Nov 22-26 (off 25)
Dec 28-31 (off 30)
- Part time (approx. 0.5 to 0.75 FTE) in 2026
- Facility has a lot of OB coverage; thus, having a gap in GYN coverage - will need to have strong GYN skills (including caring for endometrial ablation, IUD insertion/removal, menopausal management, failed medical management, urinary Incontinence, etc.)
- The clinic staffs with OB/GYNs, FM/OBs, and CNMs.
- On call most (if not all) days, both on-call and in clinic on some days
- CNMs take first call; the OB/GYN is usually only called in when there are complications.
- There are about 120 births per year
- OB/GYN department is somewhat small, however, they're a very skilled, tight-knit team, all committed to providing the best care to their community.
- Clinic patient volume: daily basis - 8-10 visits daily. It could be 16 if all are follow-ups, however, that is rare to occur.
- Procedures done in the office: Colposcopies, certain biopsies, IUD/Nexplanon insertions/removals
- Procedures done in the OR: LEEP (facility is trying to change this)
- Procedures as either done in the office or at the OR
- Requirements: Active ME License or IMLC
