UTHealth Houston Fetal Institute Basic Scientist/Translational Scientist Faculty Position

The Fetal Institute invites outstanding candidates to apply for tenure-track faculty positions at all academic levels, with a primary focus on the Assistant Professor rank.

The Institute is particularly interested in candidates whose work explores fundamental biological processes within embryological, fetal, and maternal-fetal systems, and who are eager to contribute to a team-oriented culture of innovation.

Qualifications
- Ph.D. and/or M.D. with postdoctoral training
- Demonstrated potential (Assistant Professor) or established record (Associate/Full Professor) of innovative, high-impact research
- Commitment to securing extramural funding and contributing to graduate and medical education
- Strong interest in interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring

The Institute maintains a biorepository of 1,500 maternal-fetal dyads with biological samples, accompanied by rigorous clinical data collected from prenatal, maternal, neonatal, and pediatric outcomes. Additionally, the Institute has a robust long-term outcomes follow-up program for pregnancies that undergo fetal surgeries at the UTHealth Houston Fetal Center clinic. The Fetal Center cares for over 1,200 complicated pregnancies with fetal diseases/anomalies and performs more than 300 fetal surgeries per year.
