Obstetrics/Gynecology Hospital Based job located in Texas
Job Description
Seeking a Locum BC/BE OB/GYN
--Call for 7 consecutive days, Monday 7am until the following Monday 7am.
--No requirement to be in-house for any required period of time. This is standby only, available to respond within 30 minutes if called.
--The local physicians do their own deliveries for their own patients Monday 0700 until Friday at noon. So during those hours, the on-call physician is only called for “drop-in” and “unassigned” patients, which are infrequent.
--From Friday noon until Monday 0700, the on-call physician is responsible for all calls, including patients of the local providers.
--The locums physician can assume approximately 4 call-ins when on call, although it varies. Approximately 1-2 would be for deliveries. The other call-ins would be for things like weekend discharges of the other providers’ patients, OB emergency/triage situations, etc. (deliver approximately 30-40 babies per month, but most are delivered by the local physician.)
--Burden is minimal as far as number of actual call-ins, and no ongoing in-house requirement, but the 30-minute standby availability is the main need.
--OB only. Not gynecology.
--EMR: ECW
