Locum Tenens – Medical Oncologist (Days)

Facility Details

• Location: 350 W. Thomas Rd, Phoenix, AZ
• Setting: Primarily outpatient clinic attached to hospital
• Inpatient Rounding: For new consults and existing patients
• EMR: Cerner
• Support Staff:
  • 2 Nurse Practitioners
  • 2 Program Coordinators
  • 2 Referral/Auth Coordinators
  • 2 Medical Assistants
  • 2 Infusion Schedulers
  • 2 RN Triage Nurses
• Reason for Coverage: Physician departure

Schedule/Call/Compensation

• Shifts: Monday–Friday, 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Call: Weekend 24-hour call (backup for NP coverage)
• Coverage Expectations: Full-time (4 weeks/month)
• Call Structure:
  • 24-hour call includes 4 gratis hours
  • $3,750/day | Callback: $507/hour

Clinical Duties

• Diagnose and evaluate new oncology patients
• Order and manage chemotherapy and treatment plans
• Read diagnostic imaging
• Oversee infusion therapy
• Conduct inpatient rounds for consults and follow-ups
• Must participate in tumor boards
• Must stay current with evidence-based oncology practices

Candidate Requirements

• Board Certification: Medical Oncology (Highly Preferred)
• Licensure: Active AZ license or IMLC eligibility
• Certifications: BLS, DEA
• Malpractice: Clean history (Highly Preferred)
• Availability
• Credentialing Timeframe: 45–90 days (expedited available)
• Residency/Fellowship: Oncology training required
