Ophthalmologist (Medical Retina Focus) position in beautiful Montana!
 

We are seeking a Medical Ophthalmologist with a focus on retinal disease to join our collaborative ophthalmology team due to the anticipated retirement of a longstanding comprehensive ophthalmologist. The ideal candidate will be medical retina fellowship-trained with expertise in diagnosing and treating a wide range of general ophthalmologic and retinal conditions. This role involves primarily medical management of general ophthalmologic and retinal disorders and may include management of cataract cases as needed to support the practice.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive eye exams with a focus on retinal disease.
  • Diagnose and manage retinal diseases including intravitreal injections, office- based laser retina procedures, and other procedures.
  • Perform and interpret advanced imaging tests (OCT, fluorescein angiography).
  • May perform cataract surgeries to support patient care needs.
  • Educate patients and families on disease progression, treatment options, and preventive care.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed medical records.
  • Stay current with advancements in retinal diagnostics and therapeutics.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree with completion of an accredited ophthalmology residency.
  • Fellowship training in Medical Retina or equivalent experience.
  • Board certification or eligibility in Ophthalmology.
  • Valid medical license to practice.
  • Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and treating a wide spectrum of retinal conditions.
  • Proficiency in both retinal procedures and cataract surgical techniques.
  • Dedication to providing compassionate patient care and excellent service.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team.

  • Proficiency in OCT, fluorescein angiography, and fundus photography.
  • Experience with intravitreal injections and laser treatments.
