(Login for Information) at McGovern Medical School at UTHealth Houston is seeking a faculty ophthalmologist to join our academic and clinical practice within the county hospital system.
This position offers a unique opportunity to play a central role in resident education and surgical training within a busy, mission-driven academic environment. The primary responsibility of this role is to teach and mentor ophthalmology residents in both clinical and surgical settings. The successful candidate will become an integral part of our residency education program and contribute to the department’s academic mission.
We welcome applicants with comprehensive ophthalmology training, as well as fellowship-trained cornea or glaucoma specialists. Appointment may be at the Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor level, commensurate with experience, academic accomplishments, and clinical expertise.
Faculty will hold an academic appointment with UTHealth Houston / McGovern Medical School and will participate in the clinical, educational, and scholarly activities of the department.
Qualifications:
- MD or DO degree
- Board-certified or board-eligible in Ophthalmology
- Eligible for medical licensure in the State of Texas
- Commitment to resident education and academic medicine
