The facility operates a hospital-based pathology laboratory in Syracuse, New York, seeking coverage due to staffing shortages. The laboratory processes approximately 13,000 surgical specimens and 3,000 cytology specimens annually. The department maintains a team of four physicians, five histotechnologists, one pathology assistant, and two cytotechnologists to support pathology services.

Syracuse offers diverse attractions including iconic urban parks, memorial museums, and numerous art galleries. The area provides water activities such as boat tours and pedal boats, along with entertainment venues featuring Broadway-style shows and major sporting events. Recreational opportunities range from rooftop establishments to entertainment arcades, with seasonal boat tours being particularly popular during spring months.

The anatomic/clinical pathologist will provide locum tenens coverage for a hospital-based pathology laboratory due to staffing shortages. The position requires day shift coverage with no call responsibilities and involves examining surgical pathology specimens and cytology cases. The clinician will be responsible for grossing specimens independently and performing frozen section evaluations using the cryostat. Board certification in Anatomic Pathology and an active New York State license are mandatory requirements for this position.
