The health system seeks transfusion medicine coverage to support their permanent clinician during scheduled time off. The facility requires remote coverage by an experienced clinician who can handle complex cases and maintain continuity of care during transition periods.

Alabama features diverse attractions including the U.S. Veterans Memorial Museum, Cathedral Caverns State Park, and USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park, alongside natural destinations such as Gulf Shores Beach and Bon Secour National Wildlife Refuge. The clinician will provide remote transfusion medicine coverage with call responsibilities for clinic and call situations. Blood bank technologists and residents will contact the clinician with questions and send transfusion medicine reports for sign-out. The position requires expertise in complex transfusion scenarios including trauma cases with massive transfusion protocols, maternal-fetal medicine, and sickle cell management. Board certification in Transfusion Medicine is required due to the scope of services provided.
