Pathologist Locums Job in Georgia | Full-Time or Part-Time Coverage | July Start | Assignment #109327

Coverage Needs: 
- Full-time or part-time coverage for minimum of 6 months starting in July
- Monday-Friday, 8:00a-4:30p OR 9:00a-5:30p (can be flexible)
- Night call and weekend call rotating every two weeks

Assignment Details/Requirements:
- Reason for Coverage: retirement of full-time pathologist
- Privileging Timeline: ~45 days for privileging
- License: Georgia license required
- AP and CP Board Certifications are both required
- Responsibilities: Taking call blood bank/organ procurement (rare)/frozen sections two weeks on and two weeks off. Also reviewing specimens from techs that meet pathologist review criteria. 
- Physician responsible for their own grossing.
- Physician NOT responsible for their own frozen sections.
- Anatomic Pathology: Surgical Pathology, GI Pathology, GU Pathology, Neuropathology, Hematopathology (Bone Marrow, Lymph Nodes), Aspiration/bx of Bone Marrow, Interpretation of Bone Marrow Aspirate/bx, Cytology, Autopsy
- Clinic Pathology: Hematology, Microbiology, Chemistry/Serology, Blood Bank
- Team Structure: 2 Pathologists in the group, 6 Histotechnologists
- Cases Read per Day: 10-15 per day per pathologist
- Average Number of Patients Per Day: 1800 billables in clinical lab per day
- Requirements: Both Anatomic and Clinic Pathologist Board Certified, Georgia license, BLS
- Facility Information: Trauma level 2, ~175 staffed beds, ~38,000 annual ER visits
- Facility Certifications: CLIA, CAP, AABB
- EMR: EPIC Beaker
