(Login for Information) and the (Login for Information) at The University of Texas at Austin are seeking a talented and innovative Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesiologist to join the growing (Login for Information)
Founded in 2018, the Center has rapidly expanded, earning a reputation for outstanding clinical outcomes and a strong, collaborative care model. Our program performed 275 pediatric cardiac cases in 2019—including 45 neonatal operations—and has continued to grow in scope and innovation. Highlights include:
- Opening of a dedicated pediatric cardiac critical care unit
- Central Texas’s first pediatric ventricular assist device
- A state-of-the-art cardiac operating room (opened February 2020), with a second OR soon to follow

What You’ll Do:
- Provide and supervise direct care for patients before, during, and after cardiac surgery
- Develop and implement clinical protocols
- Oversee quality improvement registries related to pediatric cardiac anesthesia
- Lead educational, quality assurance, and performance improvement efforts
- Participate in coordinated outreach for the Heart Center
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution
- Board certification in Anesthesiology and Pediatric Anesthesiology by the ABA
- Additional formal training in Pediatric Cardiac Anesthesia
- Eligible for an unrestricted Texas medical license (or able to obtain prior to appointment)
- Demonstrated skills in clinical teaching, evaluation, and communication
- Strong ability to lead, influence, and collaborate at multiple professional levels
- Innovative self-starter with a commitment to excellence and teamwork
- Eligible for faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher in the (Login for Information)
