Pediatric Geneticist
Location: Philadelphia, PA Facility: Leading Medical Center Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday (No Weekends)

(Login for Information) is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Geneticist to join our partner, a leading medical center located in the vibrant city of Philadelphia, PA. This is a unique opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary team providing comprehensive genetic services to children and their families, with opportunities for education and research.
Position Overview:
As a Pediatric Geneticist, you will provide expert clinical genetics consultations and screenings for pediatric patients presenting with a wide range of conditions, including suspected genetic syndromes, birth defects, developmental delays, cancer predispositions, and chronic diseases. You will also offer inpatient consultations and may provide consultations for adult-onset genetic diseases as needed. This role involves close collaboration with physicians, an RN, a genetic counselor, and dedicated office staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Care:
- Provide comprehensive genetics consultations for pediatric inpatients and outpatients.
- Evaluate and diagnose patients with birth defects, chronic diseases, developmental delays, intellectual disabilities, suspected genetic abnormalities, cancer, and significant family histories of genetic disorders.
- Offer consultations related to adult-onset genetic conditions as appropriate.
- Team Collaboration:
- Work effectively within a multidisciplinary team environment, collaborating closely with physicians, genetic counselors, nursing staff, and administrative personnel.
- Education and Research:
- Develop and lead educational programs related to genetics for medical residents and students.
- Participate actively in relevant research studies and clinical trials.
Qualifications:
- Education & Training: Medical Degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution; Completion of residency and fellowship training leading to board eligibility/certification in Clinical Genetics & Genomics (Required).
- Board Certification: Board Certified or Board Eligible (BE/BC) in Clinical Genetics & Genomics (ABMGG) (Required).
- License/Registration: Unrestricted Pennsylvania State Medical License (or ability to obtain prior to employment) (Required); Ability to obtain and maintain DEA certification for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (Required).
