Academic Pediatric Urologist
The Department of Surgery at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso (TTUHSCEP) seeks a Pediatric Urologist. The pediatric urologist will provide patient care at TTUHSCEP’s affiliated teaching hospitals: El Paso Children’s Hospital (EPCH). Established in 2012, EPCH provides the highest level of pediatric care in far west Texas and southern New Mexico. The candidate should enjoy teaching residents and medical students as well as pursuing research and other scholarly activities within the Surgery Department. The position is a full-time appointment at TTUHSCEP and the salary is competitive.
TTUHSCEP is one of five universities in the Texas Tech University System. The Health Sciences Center consists of the Paul L. Foster School of Medicine, the Gayle Greve Hunt School of Nursing, the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences and the Woody L. Hunt School of Dental Medicine.
Texas Tech Physicians of El Paso is the region’s largest multispecialty medical group practice, with over 250 specialists and subspecialists The pediatric surgeon will have a large, healthy referral network from within El Paso as well as far west Texas and southern New Mexico.
El Paso, as the 6th most populous city in Texas and the 22nd in the United States, has been ranked as the city with the lowest cost of living by Forbes magazine and the second safest city in the U.S. Exceptional public and private schools are available. The city has minor league baseball and soccer, symphony, museums, excellent dining options and shopping. The El Paso International Airport is easy to access, making travel simple and efficient. One can enjoy living in the mountains and skiing is two hours away.
The successful candidate will be employed by TTUHSCEP at an academic rank commensurate with qualifications. The position requires a M.D. /D.O. degree and successful completion of an ACGME approved pediatric urology fellowship. Board certification/eligibility in urology and additional pediatric urology fellowship training is required.
