Santa Clara Valley Healthcare (SCVH), a large public teaching healthcare system, affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, in San Jose CA, is seeking full-time and part-time BE/BC primary care pediatricians and extra help (unbenefited) BE/BC pediatricians to work in our expanding pediatric primary care and urgent care practice in our Department of Pediatrics.

SCVMC is an ACS-verified Level 1 Trauma Center, a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center, an ABA-verified Burn Center, a Primary Stroke Center, a Level 4 NICU, and a nationally recognized CARF-accredited Rehabilitation Center. Owing to its geographic location and specialty offerings, SCVMC not only serves the County, but also the larger region.
Providers in our health system also have the opportunity to use our integrated electronic health record (Epic), which brings together systemwide patient information.
About the Department of Pediatrics
Our department of pediatrics is a busy practice comprised of 7 clinics in the south Bay Area and are always needing staffing for our busy urgent care services. We are a key training site for the Stanford pediatric residents and work closely with our pediatric specialists and in-patient team to provide the best medical home for our patients. Physicians who join our department enjoy a collegial work environment, satisfaction working with the underserved and timely collaboration with colleagues via our integrated EMR (Epic).
About the Position
We are looking for BC/BE pediatricians who enjoy a busy clinic with both primary care and urgent care shifts. The preferred candidates will be familiar with working with non-English speaking families and proficiency in Spanish or Vietnamese would be a plus, but not required. We are also looking for providers who are willing to mentor the pediatric residents in urgent care or in continuity clinic.
We are also looking for a part-time urgent care pediatrician to work at O’Connor Hospital (OCH). The OCH pediatric urgent care clinic is a 7 room clinic on site on the OCH campus. Hours of operation are Mon-Fri from 3pm-10pm. The physician will work alongside NPs during these hours for newborn care and afterhours urgent care services. Lab, radiology and pharmacy services on site by the ER. Providers are supported by pediatric hospitalist and specialists at VMC at all times in the event a child requires higher level of care or consultation. Admissions for newborns< 1 month of age stay at OCH whereas older children are admitted at the Valley Medical Center pediatric ward 1 mile away. EPIC EMR is used across both hospitals.
