Position Summary: The Pediatrician is accountable directly to the Medical Director and the Associate Chief Medical Officer within their respective program. This is a full-time position based out of our Family Health and Birth Center in NE, DC.
The salary for this position ranges between $170,000 - $180,000 annually and the offer amount is determined by the candidate's education, qualifications, and experience. Indeed provides their own estimated salary calculator and is not affiliated with COH's range.
Highlighted Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provides direct, team-based clinical care to patients, meeting clinical standards, within the appropriate scope of practice.
- Provides virtual medical care to patients, following approved guidelines and refers them for in-person visits as needed.
- Refers patients to specialists or care coordinators as needed.
- Precepts residents, medical students, nurse provider students, midwifery students, and physician assistant students during their community medicine rotations as agreed upon with supervisor.
- Cooperates with clinical and office policies and protocols. Is a flexible team player, and helps other providers and staff as needed.
- Secures patient information and maintains patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records and keeping patient information confidential.
- Signs off on all laboratory results, diagnostic imaging results, and referral reports in a timely fashion; sharing this information with patients as appropriate.
- Documents all patient encounters, including face to face, telephone, and electronic communications, in the medical record in a timely fashion.
- Completes other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Requirements
- Medical Degree (MD/DO, Board Certified preferred) with specialization in pediatrics required.
- Current DC license required. Any providers who are licensed in Maryland who provide a copy of their license and MD CDS to Talent Management are also eligible for MD licensure reimbursement.
- Current CDS and DEA required.
- Current BLS certification (ACLS or BLS for the Healthcare Provider or equivalent) required.
- Commitment to work with underserved populations in an urban setting.
- Ability to work in non-profit environment.
- Bilingual in Spanish and/or Amharic a plus.
- Able to work across clinical sites if requested.
- Shares Saturday clinic coverage with other providers by completing at least one Saturday shift per month.
- Able to work evening hours as needed.
