Explore the West Coast of Hawaii's Big Island
Living on the west coast of Hawaii Island, also known as the Big Island, offers a truly unique and rewarding lifestyle. Home to towns like Kailua-Kona, this region enjoys warm, sunny weather year-round and stunning ocean sunsets. With a population of about 200,000 across the island, the west coast is less crowded than other Hawaiian islands, offering a peaceful and relaxed atmosphere. Residents enjoy world-class outdoor recreation, including snorkeling in crystal-clear waters, hiking through lava fields, surfing, and exploring nearby national parks and beaches. The area has a growing selection of shops, local boutiques, farmers' markets, and diverse restaurants, from fresh seafood to traditional Hawaiian cuisine. While the cost of living is higher than the mainland average, many find it worth it for the lifestyle and beauty. Public and private school options are available, and the area is served by Ellison Onizuka Kona International Airport, providing convenient access to inter-island and mainland flights. Crime rates are relatively low, and the strong sense of community and aloha spirit make the west coast of the Big Island a beloved place to live.
