Job Description

(Login for Information), Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics seeks a general pediatrician with interest in developmental and behavioral pediatrics. Appointment rank is open and may be to either the tenure track or clinical (non-tenure) track consistent with clinical experience and research interest. Appointment rank to Instructor of Pediatrics (non-tenure or clinical track) may also be considered. The individual selected will join the Division of Developmental and Behavioral Pediatrics to provide patient care, teaching, and consultative services as a pediatrician.

The Division is comprised of five faculty, 3 ARNPs, and a DBP Fellow, and is a national leader in research with an NIH-funded Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities Research Center (Hawk-IDDRC) and industry-sponsored clinical research.  The Division works closely with the University of Iowa Center for Disabilities and Development, which has been Iowa’s University Center for Excellence on Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) since 1972. The Center for Disabilities and Development integrates a broad array of clinical services in one location, including developmental and behavioral pediatrics, psychology, speech-language pathology, occupational and physical therapy, social work, education, audiology, and nursing, and thus provides an ideal environment for exceptional patient care, education and research. The Center is also the home of Iowa’s LEND (Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and related Disabilities) program and has provided outstanding interdisciplinary training in neurodevelopmental disabilities for over two decades.  This position includes important leadership opportunities in the LEND program.
