Job Description
Facility is seeking Locum BC/BE Phyisical Medicine and Rehab physician to provide coverage
--Dates needed: June 16th - July 6th, 2026
--10 hour shifts
--Responsibilites include:
- Amputations for both congenital and acquired conditions, rehabilitative care
- Cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation as related to physiatric responsibilities, evaluation and application
- Central nervous system disorders (hereditary, developmental, acquired), management
- Cerebrovascular accident (CVA), evaluation and management
- Disability evaluations and impairment ratings
- Electrodiagnostic studies, (ie., electromyography; nerve conduction studies; somatosensory evoked potential studies)
- Geriatric rehabilitation
- History and physical examination (H&P)
- Injections, therapeutic/diagnostic
- Medical conditioning, reconditioning and fitness
- Motion analysis
- Motor neuron and motor system diseases - diagnosis, assessment and management
- Musculoskeletal syndromes (acute/chronic), including sports and occupational injuries - diagnosis, assessment and management of
- Myelopathies, (congenital/acquired) diagnosis, assessment, and management of
- Neurological, musculoskeletal and cardiovascular-pulmonary systems, assessment of
- Orthotics, prosthetics, wheelchair, ambulatory devices, special beds and other assistive devices, prescriptions for
- Pain management, chronic/acute
- Patients and family members, including end of life care, counseling
- Pediatric rehabilitation, management
- Peripheral neuropathies - diagnosis, assessment and management of
- Postoperative joint arthroplasty, postfracture care and rehabilitation of
- Pressure ulcers, prevention/treatment
- Pulmonary, cardiac, oncologic, infectious, immunosuppressive and other common medical conditions seen in patients with physical disabilities
- Rehabilitation treatment programs, design/monitor
- Rheumatologic disorders, treated by physiatrist
- Roentgenography, review of
- Sexual dysfunction common to the physically impaired - diagnosis, assessment and management of
- Soft tissue disorders such as burns, ulcers and wound care
- Spinal cord trauma and disease, rehabilitative care of (including bladder/bowel dysfunction)
- Stroke rehabilitation
- Tissue disorders (ie., burn, ulcer, wound care), management of
- Traumatic brain
--Patients round on in a typical day: 18
--Patient population: Mix, 50+ age group
--The locum provider handles admissions
--Support staff: Hospitalist support with medical management
--Procedurs/injections not required
--EMR: Expanse
--Required: Successful completion of an ACGME- or RCPSC-accredited and/or AOA-approved (as applicable) residency program in physical medicine and rehabilitation/internal medicine.
- Has had 2 years of training or experience in the medical management of inpatients requiring rehabilitation services per CMS requirements.
- Required: FL license, DEA, ACLS certification with maintenance of certification for the duration of granted moderate sedation privileges, if applicable
