Job Description: An acute care hospital in Bridgeport is seeking a dedicated Physician Assistant to join their Neurosurgery team. This is a "Staff Leveling" coverage need focusing primarily on inpatient care. You will work alongside a robust team of 5 surgeons and 3 APPs in an environment with no neurosurgery residents.

Clinical Details:

• Focus: 75% Inpatient rounding (Post-op, ICU, and ER/floor consults); 25% OR.

• Procedures: OR First Assist for both cranial and spine cases.

• Patient Population: Adults only.

• Clinical Setting: Inpatient/Hospital only; no clinic responsibilities.

• Support: Existing APP staff will assist on most OR cases.

• EMR: Epic.

Requirements:

• Certification: Board Certified Physician Assistant (NSY ORFA).

• Life Support: Current ACLS and BLS certifications.

• Licensure: Active Connecticut state license, DEA, and Controlled Substance Permit required.

  • Note: The client is willing to wait 6–8 weeks for the right candidate to obtain a CT license.

• Credentialing: The hospital privileging process typically takes 8–12 weeks.
