Orthopedic Surgery AP Locums Job in Iowa | Sporadic Coverage | August Start | Assignment #109245

Coverage Needs: 
-- Sporadic coverage starting July/August and ongoing
-- Monday-Friday, 8:00a-5:00p + Night Call, 5:00p-8:00a
-- NO weekends

Assignment Details/Requirements:
-- Reason for Coverage: need additional support
-- Privileging Timeline: 60-90 days to full privileges
-- License: Iowa license or Active Compact REQUIRED
-- Inpatient/Rounding OR Outpatient
-- Responsibilities: Rounding on post-op patients, inpatient/ED consults, OR
-- Required Procedures: Total hip, knee, and shoulder replacement. Hand, wrist, knee, shoulder, hip, ankle, and foot surgical procedures.
Trauma injuries, fracture care, sports medicine, and other disorders.
-- Support Staff/Team Structure: 4 Physicians as of July 2025 with Locum call coverage + 7 Advanced Practice Providers + Nursing Support/Physician Nurse Ratio: 1 nurse/provider, 3 cast techs/7 providers, Ancillary Staff per Provider: 3 Reception/7 providers, 2 Surgery Schedulers/7 providers
-- Appointment length: 10-30 mins depending on new consult, recheck, post-op, or procedure
-- Requirements: Board Certification, CLEAN malpractice/background, Active Iowa license or compact. *Will accept new graduates
-- Facility Information: Trauma level 3, average hospital daily census 160 patients/day, “Hub” hospital serving 16 surrounding counties (~200,000+ pop.) # Exam Rooms per Provider: 2 exam rooms and 3 cast rooms. Medical Imaging: YES. Lab: YES. Pharmacy: YES.
