General Surgery Physician Assistant Locums Job in Michigan | Scheduled Clinic Hours | 9/29/25 - 1/2/26 | Assignment #111302

Coverage Details
-- Start: September 29, 2025
-- End: January 2, 2026
-- Estimated Credentialing Timeframe: 60–120 days (temporary privileges available)
-- Covering two facilities within 25 minutes of each other
-- Option to remain credentialed for PRN work after assignment ends
-- Vacancy due to team member relocating out of state, coinciding with a maternity leave

Location Details
-- Location 1 has 2 DaVinci robots; Location 2 has 1
-- Weekly location determined by case volume and priority
-- Candidates should expect up to a 50:50 split between campuses week to week
-- Rare for providers to travel between campuses during the same day—typically remain at one site per day

Shift Description
-- Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
-- Some flexibility on start and end times
-- 40 hours per week
-- No call required

Requirements
-- Board Certification: NCCPA
-- State License: Active Michigan license
-- Certifications: BLS & ACLS through AHA
-- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years with robotic bedside first-assist experience in GYN, urology, general surgery, and bariatrics
-- EMR Experience: Cerner – Preferred

Practice Setting
-- Hospital-based OR with more than 20 operating rooms and 3 DaVinci robots

Responsibilities
-- Bedside first-assisting in robotic surgical cases (GYN, urology, general surgery, bariatrics)
-- Placement of ports and closure of port sites
-- Occasional assistance in non-robotic cases as needed
-- Occasional discharges/depart documentation and outpatient prescriptions

Team & Environment
-- Surgeon and residents present in all cases (senior residents typically at console; may have junior residents bedside)
-- Support from scrub techs and circulating nurses
-- More than 30 surgeons credentialed on the robotic platform
