Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician Assistant Locums Job in Wisconsin 

One of our clients is seeking a Physician Assistant to cover within the Cardiothoracic Surgery service at one of our partnering facilities in Wisconsin. 

Scope of Practice:
--Need two PA locums to cover CT Surgery service
--Four weeks per month open x two provider's per shift
--PA will provide morning ICU, cardiac medical unit, post procedural rounding
--PA will assist in surgical cases, consult with hospitalists, ED, as well internal and external referring services 
--CVOR block time available 

Procedures: 
--Performs greater saphenous vein harvests and radial artery harvests
--Place and remove chest tubes and catheters
--Intubate and extubate patients
--Place and remove central lines and arterial lines
--May write prescriptions and medical orders 

Schedule and Call:
--Monday-Friday 7am-5pm
--Rotating call during the week and 1:5 weekend 
--Weekday call starts at 12pm - 7am following day
--Weekend call is Friday 7am-Monday 7am
--Coverage will be ongoing for 6 months - 1 year

Facility Setup and Support:
--Team of 3 Surgeons, 6 IP PAs, 1 clinic - based NP and 2 nurses
--PA will collaborate with CT Surgeon to:
> Examine patients, formulating diagnosis, and developing a treatment plan for patients
> Performing technical, clinical and surgical procedures
> Documenting patient progress and surgical care

Locums Requirements:
--OR experience including endoharvesting of vein and radial arteries required
--First assisting experience required
--Postoperative management and consults experience 
--Active Wisconsin license
