Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist Locums Job | Greater Los Angeles Area | Starting ASAP
Details/Requirements:
*Need starts ASAP and ongoing for adult inpatient coverage plus psychiatric consults on the med/surg floor of the hospital as needed.
*Need is for 24 to 40 hours a week with most weeks being 24 hours, including the two weekend days plus either Monday or Friday. Occasionally, may need 40 hours a week. For sure Saturday and Sunday plus flexible on which other 3 days for weekdays when 40 hours are needed.
*27 bed acute adult inpatient unit covered solely by the locum tenens doctor on weekend days and by both the locums and one of the client’s staff psychiatrists on weekdays.
*Hours: 8am to 4pm, day shifts. Round on every patient each shift, including on weekends, and do psych consults on the med/surg floor as needed. And will handle new admissions and discharges.
*No call – Client’s telemedicine team can take call most of the time. Occasionally, they may have the locums doctor take call after an 8-hour shift. Phone consults only. The locums doctor won’t ever be called back in to see a patient when on night call.
*Medical physicals for new admissions are done by NPs.
*Takes approximately 2 months for hospital credentialing/privileging. Client is trying to see if they can do expedited temporary privileges.
*Client has an electronic health record, so candidates must be computer savvy.
*Client prefers 5 month minimum assignments.
