Tele Health Adolescent Psychiatrist Residential Treatment Locums Job in Southern California ASAP

Details/Requirements:
*Adolescent residential treatment coverage via 100% tele health using Microsoft Teams starting ASAP x ongoing. 
*Patient age range is 12-17 years. 
*Due to a low current census of 6 patients, currently the need is for 6-8 hours a week; however, ideally the client would like to see 3 new admissions per week resulting in a census of around 16 patients across their three 6-bed programs which would increase the weekly hours to around 16-21 hours per week.  Per the client, 'The hope is that we will be there in a few weeks to a month' from now, meaning to a 16 patient census vs. 6. 
*Average daily census is 15-18 patients.  Average length of stay is 45 days or so but can be up to 60-90 days.
*Hours are flexible between 8am to 5pm M-F.  Some opportunities to work evenings and weekends if arranged and mutually agreed upon ahead of time.
*Initial assessment is required within 24 hours of a new admission.  In addition, a follow up visit is done once a week for all patients. 
*1 hour to 1.5 hours for initial assessments including documentation time and 30 minutes for follow ups including documentation time. 
*Other duties include coordination with treatment team and family members and occasional peer to peer call with the insurance companies to extend the authorization and occasional calls from the client’s staff if a patient has a reaction to a medication or other treatment team questions that come up, most of the time these calls are not after scheduled hours.  Psychiatrist is on back up call for 24/7 nursing staff if there is a question or crisis nursing staff cannot handle or if they have questions for the Psychiatrist.  After hours they won’t normally call the doctor unless it’s very specific to a medication question.  May get a call after hours like once or twice a month. 
*Client requires either a board certified Child Psychiatrist or a board certified Adult Psychiatrist with adolescent experience.
*Client’s electronic health record, so candidates must be computer savvy.
*Client’s credentialing/onboarding process can be done within approximately 24 hours. 
*Client prefers minimum assignments of 3 to 6 months but the longer the better.
