Full-Time Adult Inpatient Psychiatrist Locum Tenens Job in the Greater Los Angeles, California Area

Details/Requirements:
*Need starts ASAP and ongoing for onsite adult inpatient coverage plus psychiatric consults on the med/surg floor of the hospital as needed.
*Preference is for candidates who are local to the area and already credentialed with L.A. County DMH and Kaiser.
*Need is for 40 hours a week working for sure Saturdays and Sundays plus flexible on which other 3 days for weekdays. May consider a Monday-Friday schedule.   
*Hours: 8am to 4pm, 8-hour day shifts.  Round on every patient each shift, including on weekends, and do psych consults on the med/surg floor as needed. The NP does most of these and the locums will supervise the NP for any in-hospital consults they do.  And will handle new admissions and discharges.
*Call is shared 1 in 2 for night call after the locums’ day shift that day and it’s just for the behavioral health unit, not for in-hospital consults which can typically wait until the following day. Phone consults only. The locums doctor won’t ever be called back in to see a patient when on night call. May get called like 3-4 times per week when on night call. 
*27 bed acute adult inpatient unit covered by both the locums doctor and one of the client’s staff psychiatrists. Occasionally, the locums doctor may be the only doctor covering on a weekend.  
*ADC is 16, ALOS is 4 days. Average daily caseload is 8-10 patients on weekdays. On weekends it's also 8-10 patients, but occasionally will cover the entire unit on a weekend day in which case there could be 16-18 patients. 
*Medical physicals for new admissions are done by an NP. The locums won’t supervise the NP for the medical physicals, the client’s medical director will do that.
*Takes approximately 3 to 3.5 months for hospital credentialing/privileging.  
*E.H.R. is Meditech. Must be computer savvy.  
*Client prefers 6-month minimum assignments.
