A facility is seeking a Psychiatrist for locum tenens coverage.

The facility is located~30 miles South of Macon, Georgia.

This role involves conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations for adult patients admitted via forensic, court-ordered, or emergency referrals, completing intake assessments, and determining appropriate inpatient placement and level of care. Responsibilities include initiating individualized treatment plans, prescribing and managing psychotropic medications, and providing acute stabilization for patients with severe mental illness, psychosis, mood disorders, or behavioral dysregulation.

• Case Load/PPD:  22 beds - 11 patients per MD
• Support Staff:  Additional Psychiatrist and support staff for scheduling
• Patient Population:  Adults
• Location Type:  On-Site
• Prescriptive Authority Required:  Yes
• Government:  No
• Shift Hours:  Full time (40 hours)
• Cases Treated:  schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and co-occurring substance use disorders
