Psychiatrist Locums Job | Community Behavioral Health System | Southwest Georgia
Jackson and Coker is seeking a Psychiatrist for a locum tenens opportunity with a well-established Community Service Board in the heart of Georgia. This is a meaningful clinical role serving an underserved population in a supportive, fully electronic practice environment.
The Opportunity:
Join a behavioral health team dedicated to providing psychiatric care to adults and children in an outpatient and residential crisis setting. The outpatient clinic runs Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with a fully built schedule, e-prescribe capabilities, and electronic documentation already in place. The residential crisis unit serves patients experiencing acute psychiatric episodes and substance use crises in a short-term inpatient-style environment.
Patient Population:
Primary adult population with occasional pediatric patients (ages 6 and up). Diagnoses include mental illness, substance use disorders, and developmental disabilities with co-occurring behavioral health conditions. The patient base is largely uninsured or underinsured.
Scheduling:
--Initial evaluations are booked at 45 to 60 minutes. Follow-up med checks run 15 to 25 minutes.
Candidate Requirements:
--MD or DO with active and unrestricted licensure in Georgia
--Psychiatry residency training required
--Board certification preferred but not required
--Comfort seeing adult and pediatric populations
--Telehealth experience welcomed
