We are looking for a motivated and experienced Board-Certified Psychiatrist to join our medical practice full time in Chicago, IL. We are a psychiatric service with both inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth caseloads within a major hospital system in Chicago. The incoming Psychiatrist will provide comprehensive psychological services within our organization through all outlets- inpatient, outpatient, and telehealth.

The incoming provider will commit to the highest quality of care using an organized, multidisciplinary team approach to provide continuity of care throughout the inpatient and outpatient continuum. Our patient population served includes adults and geriatrics.

Duties:

• Psych Inpatient care- rounding and new patient admissions
• Coordination of care with consults, midlevel providers, referral sources, and hospital staff
• Assessing and managing inpatient census
• Perform physical exams, obtain complete medical/social history, and record findings
• Order appropriate laboratory and diagnostic procedures
• Interprets and integrates data to determine preliminary diagnosis and therapeutic plan
• Order/administer medication and injections as deemed medically necessary
• Instructs patient/family regarding medications, post admission care and treatments
• Educates patients regarding health and illness prevention
• Collaborates with midlevel providers, hospital staff, and consults in managing acute needs of patients
• Maintains and reviews patient records, charts, and other pertinent information
• Posts tests and examination results
• Telehealth- Triages patient telephone calls and provides consultation
• Outpatient clinic hours
• Discharge of patients from the hospital in collaboration with social workers to support appropriate placement
• Collaboration with pharmacy and other specialists to optimize pharmacologic treatments in patients with psychiatric and medical comorbidities

Qualifications:

• MD or DO Board Certified Psychiatrist
• DEA license
• BLS & ACLS certified
• Current medical license to practice in IL

Schedule:

• Full time
