Job Description
- Role: Forensic Psychiatrist providing psychiatric services to a forensic population at Washington Correctional Facility.
- Skills Needed: Board Eligible/Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry, Active New York State Medical License, Active/unrestricted DEA Certificate, Active Medicaid Registration, and minimum one year of forensic psychiatry experience
- Benefits: $220 - $250 per hour rate, flexible 2-3 shifts per week (8:00 AM - 4:00 PM), and no call/callback requirements
Role Overview The New York Office of Mental Health (OMH) is seeking a qualified Psychiatrist to provide psychiatric services to a forensic population at the Washington Correctional Facility.
Key Responsibilities

Conduct psychiatric evaluations and provide treatment to forensic patients with varying levels of diagnostic complexity.

Provide individual patient callouts and follow-up care.

Collaborate with DOCCS medical staff and participate in bi-monthly Joint Medical Meetings.

Support patients enrolled in the Intermediate Care Program (ICP).

Participate in Assisted Outpatient Treatment (AOT) and Treatment Over Objection evaluations and testimony when required.
Qualifications

Board Eligible/Board Certified in Adult Psychiatry.

Active New York State Medical License, unrestricted DEA Certificate, and active Medicaid Registration.

Minimum one (1) year of forensic psychiatry experience.

Computer proficiency (Microsoft Word) and a clean professional/personal background.
Benefits & Opportunity Details

Compensation: $220 - $250 per hour.

Schedule: 2-3 shifts per week; 8-hour day shifts (8:00 AM – 4:00 PM).
