Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Psychiatrist to join our team at a correctional facility in Richmond, Texas. This is a full-time, permanent opportunity offering a stable schedule, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package. The Psychiatrist will provide psychiatric evaluations, medication management, and ongoing treatment for inmates with mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive psychiatric assessments and develop individualized treatment plans

• Prescribe and manage psychotropic medications

• Provide crisis intervention and ongoing psychiatric care

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary staff including psychologists, social workers, and correctional healthcare providers

• Document all services in accordance with facility policies and regulatory guidelines

• Participate in case reviews and mental health program development

Qualifications:

• MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry

• Valid and unrestricted medical license in the state of Texas (or ability to obtain)

• DEA registration

• Prior correctional or forensic psychiatry experience is a plus but not required

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
