Job Description

We are seeking a Licensed Psychologist who is passionate about making a meaningful impact in the lives of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health challenges. This position is full time and can sit in either Redding or Chico, CA.

This facility offers a wide variety of services for eligible individuals and their families from Early Intervention, Behavior Intervention, Adult Day Activities, Respite Care and several other services to support individuals and their loved ones with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs.

Role Summary

This role offers a unique opportunity to support individuals with developmental disabilities and behavioral health needs by providing psychological services, emphasizing testing and assessment of persons with developmental disabilities. Conduct psychological evaluations to determine program eligibility, establish differential diagnoses, identify opportunities for intervention and determine client therapeutic needs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administration and interpretation of psychological tests and assessment instruments to evaluate developmental status, intelligence, motor and language skills, perceptual/sensory capabilities, memory, abstract thinking and related characteristics
  • Preparation of psychological reports; consultation interdisciplinary and eligibility review processes as directed.
  • May conduct court ordered psychological evaluations provides expert testimony.
  • Provide crisis intervention support in collaboration with county mental health agencies.
  • Monitor psychotherapeutic services and ensure quality care for clients.
  • Consult with case management, clinical teams, and community partners.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings to plan and evaluate services.
  • Train and mentor staff and community service providers.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctorate in Psychology and active California Psychologist License.
  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities
  • Experience conducting psychological evaluations and assessments, including competency evaluations.
  • Training and/or experience in Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD) highly desired.
