Forensic Psychologist Locums Job | Southeast Georgia Full Time | Monday through Friday

A facility is SE Georgia is seeking a licensed Forensic Psychologist to join its inpatient forensic unit. This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position offering immediate availability for the right candidate.

Working under the hospital's Forensic Director, the selected provider will share a 38-bed forensic inpatient unit alongside one other full time psychologist, ensuring a collaborative and manageable caseload. The unit is staffed by two BHX counselors, each of whom will report to one of the psychologists for clinical supervision.

The role spans the full scope of forensic psychology practice, including competency to stand trial evaluations, criminal responsibility assessments, risk assessments, and other psychological testing. The provider will not be overwhelmed with evaluation volume, as caseload is designed to allow for quality, thorough work across multiple responsibilities.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
--Conducts face-to-face forensic mental health evaluations addressing competency to stand trial and criminal responsibility
--Performs forensic risk assessments and psychological testing for individuals admitted to the inpatient forensic unit
--Completes comprehensive annual reviews and develops opinions regarding civil commitment needs
--Provides expert witness testimony as a neutral friend to the court
--Participates in recovery planning, including development of individualized treatment plans
--Facilitates group treatment, psychoeducational interventions, and individualized therapies
--Creates and implements behavioral plans and documents treatment progress
--Provides clinical supervision to one BHX master's level counselor, as well as doctoral trainees through the facilities APA accredited internship program and postdoctoral training pipeline

Candidate Requirements:
Prior forensic experience is required. Beyond that, the team is open to discussing candidates from a variety of settings, provided they bring strong forensic evaluation credentials. State hospital background is a plus but not the sole path to consideration.
