Radiation Oncology Physician – Baltimore VA Medical Center, Baltimore, MD

Category: Non-Exempt | Healthcare | Physician Services
Contract: Long-Term VA Contract (Independent Contractor)
FTE: 1.0
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM | On-Call Coverage Required

About This Opportunity
JR Enterprise LLC (JRE), in partnership with the VA, seeks a Board-Certified Radiation Oncology Physician to provide high-quality, evidence-based radiation oncology services to Veterans at Baltimore VA. This long-term contract offers practice in a fully accredited VA Radiation Oncology program, delivering curative and palliative care using advanced radiation technologies in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive care for inpatient and outpatient Veterans
  • Perform consultations, evaluations, treatment planning, delivery, and follow-up
  • Utilize advanced modalities: 2D/3D Conformal, IMRT/VMAT, IGRT, SRS/SRT/SBRT
  • Conduct CT simulations; oversee treatment planning with Eclipse and ARIA
  • Supervise treatments on Varian Linear Accelerators
  • Perform weekly treatment evaluations; monitor response
  • Participate in tumor boards, chart rounds, peer reviews, quality initiatives
  • Communicate treatment plans and results with providers and patients
  • Maintain accurate documentation in VA CPRS EHR
  • Provide on-call coverage during evenings, weekends, holidays
  • Ensure compliance with ASTRO APeX, VA standards, and Joint Commission guidelines

Required Qualifications

  • MD or DO from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certified in Radiation Oncology (ABR)
  • Active, unrestricted U.S. medical license
  • Minimum 5 years post-residency Radiation Oncology experience
  • Experience with Varian Linear Accelerators, Eclipse, and ARIA
  • NPI and DEA registration (if applicable)
  • Ability to complete VA credentialing and privileging requirements
  • Strong clinical, communication, and technical skills

Schedule & Coverage Details

  • Clinic Hours: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
  • On-Call: Min. 8 weeknights & 1 weekend per month; urgent consults seen within 60 min
