Neurointerventionalist Physician Locums Job in Iowa | 24-Hour Thrombectomy Call Coverage

Jackson and Coker is partnered with a facility located in Des Moines, Iowa that needs Neurointerventionalist Physician coverage starting ASAP for specific dates in April. This is a hospital-based position with a focused need for thrombectomy call coverage.

Coverage need:
- Seeking 24-hour on-call thrombectomy coverage (7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
- Coverage includes weekdays and weekends within scheduled blocks
- Continuous call with callback responsibilities

Details & Requirements for Opportunity #66371:
- Fellowship trained in Interventional Radiology (IR) or Interventional Neuroradiology/Neurology (INR) – required
- Must be able to perform thrombectomies independently
- Active Iowa license or IMLC (LOQ required at name clear)
- Active DEA and CSA required
- Clean malpractice/background history required
- NPDB self-query (within 30 days) required at presentation

Practice Details:
- 100% inpatient coverage
- 24-hour thrombectomy call coverage with pager
- Stroke volume: ~1,000 annually
- Thrombectomy volume: ~165 procedures annually
- Team of 9 neurologists with IR support staff
- Hospital-based, stroke-focused care
- EMR: Epic
- No telehealth or outpatient responsibilities

Responsibilities:
- Provide 24-hour on-call coverage for thrombectomy cases
- Perform emergent thrombectomy procedures for acute ischemic stroke patients
- Respond to stroke alerts and urgent callback cases
- Collaborate with neurology and IR teams
- Perform image-guided vascular procedures
- Manage inpatient neurovascular cases
