Job Description

Lead Mammography Technologist: Pay $55-$60/hr. dependent on experience, plus generous benefits package *Sign on Incentive of $15,000 to be paid out in increments after 6 months, 12 months, 18 months and 2 years of employment.

Private Radiology practice that has been serving the North San Diego County area since 1971. We are a physician owned outpatient imaging center, so there will be no on-call or over-night shifts. We offer our patients a full range of imaging services at both our locations.

 

In addition to performing regular Mammography Technologist duties, this position is responsible for overseeing general day-to-day operations in our Mammography section to include supervision of all Mammography technologists. You will assist our Practice Administrator and CEO in implementing and maintaining company policies and procedures at the site. You will also perform imaging procedures which may include Mammography, Biopsy Assist, DEXA, and MQSA Certifications.

Responsibilities:

• Plan, organize, supervise, and train the day-to-day activities and duties of the Mammography team with little or no supervision.

• Monitor and improve services provided by the team and update policies and practices to improve overall performance.

• Perform/oversee daily functionality of all equipment; quality control checks on all necessary equipment, perform minor maintenance procedures as necessary. Log problems and call appropriate contact for service as needed.

• Act as liaison between technologists and administration (including contractors) and physicians.

MQSA Coordinator Duties:

• Maintain ACR accreditation for all imaging modalities.

• Order and maintain stock of supplies, maintaining adequate stock while minimizing costs.

• Monitor technologists’ continuing education credits, state and federal licensure.

• Review patient scheduling needs (diagnostic appointment slots, screening slots, and procedure availability) and make changes as needed.

• Coordinate service and preventative maintenance of equipment.

• Oversee the compliance and documentations as necessary for obtaining and maintaining state/MQSA mammography licenses for all VRC facilities. This will include medical audit reporting statistics and quarterly reviews of site information to ensure up to date record keeping.

Ability to:

• Provide leadership and support in the day-to-day operations of the Mammography Department.

• Organize and prioritize department workflow.

• Schedule, train, evaluate and supervise technical personnel in accordance with company policies and procedures.

• Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others.

Education & Licensure Requirements:

• Graduate of an ARRT approved school of Mammography Technology program.

• Completion of an ARRT advanced modality specialty examination in Q.A., Mammography

• Current California licensure for Mammography (CRT-M)

• Solid understanding of ACR and MQSA regulations

• BLS certification

• Previous supervisory and leadership experience required, preferably in outpatient imaging.

• Must possess a current State of California Diagnostic Radiologic Technologist License (CRT); a current Registry of American Radiologic Technologists License (ARRT); current CPR certification and venipuncture certification.

• Additional licensure in Mammography preferred.

Work Experience:

• Minimum 2 years of experience as a full-time Mammography Technologist

• Mammography and X-ray experience with proven competence in an outpatient Radiology clinical setting preferred

• General knowledge of information technology (PACS / RIS).

• Leadership skills
