Surgery-General Surgical Center/Clinic job located in Georgia

Regional healthcare leader is seeking a board certified/board eligible Acute Care General Surgeon to join their esteemed surgical group of 6 board certified general surgeons and 4 full-time APPs.  Candidate will provide coverage to primarily inpatient & emergency department consults at 180 bed acute care hospital in West GA.  Will receive ED calls, transfers, and referrals from other critical access hospitals in the region.  Schedule is Monday-Friday 7 am – 5 pm.  No week night call coverage responsibilities, and weekend call coverage obligations will be evenly split with general surgery physician colleagues.  Requirements include MD or D.O. degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine, residency trained in General Surgery, board certified or eligible in General Surgery, Proven competency to perform a full spectrum of routine general surgery procedures and acute care surgery.  Position comes with highly competitive compensation and robust benefit package.

The city of Carrollton, GA,  is located 40 miles west of Atlanta, GA and 45 minutes to Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport.  There are numerous large employers in the area with a rapidly growing economy.  The city offers a highly regarded independent city school system that have been awarded “Georgia Schools of Excellence”.  There are also numerous private schools in the area and home to the University of West Georgia and West Georgia Technical College.  This location provides easy access to the Atlanta Braves, Falcons, Hawks, United, Six Flags over Georgia, Stone Mountain, the Atlanta Aquarium and so much more.  Carrollton has a bustling historic downtown with restaurants, open-air amphitheater, several large performing arts centers and the innovative Carrollton GreenBelt project with almost 20 miles of paved shared-use paths.
