This opportunity requires licensed candidates to provide 10 to 15 days of ER call coverage per month for a general surgery group, with no office duties involved. The role focuses on consults, surgery follow-ups, and emergency procedures, with a required ability to perform upper and lower endoscopies, including EGD, as no GI specialist is available. Candidates must hold advanced life support certification. Support is provided by RNs and the ER team, and the facility uses Meditech and WebAmbulatory systems. The position covers call shifts only, typically from Thursday 7 AM to Monday 7 AM, though sometimes starting Friday. Weekend coverage is needed at least once a month, or every other month at the latest. Orientation is provided on the first day of the shift. This coverage is essential as the facility, a Level 4 trauma hospital, currently employs three general surgeons who cannot fully staff both the ER and office coverage.
