A health system is seeking a General Surgeon for locum tenens coverage.

The facility is located in Eastern North Carolina.

This role involves both inpatient and outpatient coverage, including solo call on nights and weekends. Outpatient clinic volumes average 25 patients per day, with up to 8 elective surgical cases daily, while the average inpatient surgical census is 2 and admissions are approximately 1 per day. Responsibilities may include ICU/critical care duties and covering consults and procedures in the ED during call (LT does not respond to codes). Required procedures include upper and lower scopes, gallbladder and appendix removal, food bolus, bowel obstruction, and hernia repair. BLS is required; ACLS and PALS are needed for conscious sedation privileges. The practice uses EPIC EHR.
