Job Description
The Department of Surgery at the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston (UTHealth) is searching for fellowship trained Breast Surgeons. Candidates would be considered at the level of Assistant, Associate, or Professor of Surgery at UTHealth and should be Board Certified or Board Eligible.
The Department of Surgery currently employs three full time Breast surgeons. Selected individuals are expected to remain active in the education of these trainees and are encouraged to pursue academic research. The clinical practice for this role will encompass all aspects of breast surgery including benign and malignant disease. No general surgery call is required. Multiple practice locations and affiliations are available.
The selected candidates would expand breast surgery coverage to additional hospitals in the Memorial Hermann system. Each facility has an Inter-disciplinary team of experts including Medical Oncologists, Radiation Oncologists, and Breast Imaging Physicians. Memorial Hermann System is accredited as an Integrated Cancer Network by the Commission on Cancer. It has a highly aligned physician group within an Oncology ACO. The system sees 1500+ new breast cancer cases per year. Onsite teams include breast nurse navigators, social workers, chaplains and dieticians. The program also includes physical therapists and a Survivorship program. Focused innovative treatment options including the latest in technology. American College of Radiology certified in breast imaging.
