Seeking a BE/BC Orthopedic Surgeons with OR without a Trauma Surgery Fellowship.

Join 12 Physicians who services the Musculoskeletal Service Department, including, 6 Orthopedic Surgeons, one (non-operative) Sports Medicine Physician, and 3 neurosurgeons and 3 podiatrists.

Some Orthopedic- trauma cases, including hunting (fall) accidents, falls, motor vehicle and ATV/UTV accidents, but majority of cases will be general (hip fractures, Hemiarthroplasties, wrist and ankle fractures, etc) orthopedics which present to the emergency department.

2 APPs in place to assist with triaging and rounding
- 24 hours of call coverage; 7 days/week - Ortho Trauma Surgeon will take night call 6 of 7 nights when on.

Post-call week, Trauma Dr. typically sees his/her follow-ups in office M, T then off W, TH, F, Sat, Sun
- Physician may or may not be called in; call ins after hours are minimal
- Level I trauma response time is 30 minutes

All other orthopedic cases / response time will be at the discretion of the physician
- Hospital consults (infected joints, non-dx pains). All hospital consults must be completed within 24 hours unless ordering physician requests quicker response
- Weekdays average - 2 cases per day
- Weekends average 1.5 cases per day – 3 cases per weekend
- Some days there could be 4-5 cases; based on whatever comes through the emergency department
- Level II trauma response time is as called/requested to present

Take call every other week.
- When on call, work in hospital and cover Trauma cases (Emergency Medicine).
- When not on call, provider follow up visits and elective surgeries with flexible schedule.
- Mostly general orthopedic cases with a few true trauma cases.

Compensation Details

Starting salary of $850,000
- $50,000 sign-on bonus
- Loan Repayment (amount and # years): $150,000 Educational Debt Forgiviness Loan (If applicable), forgiven over five years at 20% per year. 100% forgiven after 5 years of full-time employment.
